Betting begins when the bettor next to the dealer throws in a small blind and the player on their left throws in a big blind. For instance, if a player has 9-9 and the community cards are 9-9-A-5-2, you have collected the same cards or squares. If the community cards are J-Q-K-Q-2, you will have a hand containing two nines.

The Showdown
This usually occurs after the last betting round when more than one player remains. The players’ cards are then exposed and compared to determine the winner of the game. The cards are exposed in order; the player does not just go ahead and show their cards. Instead, each player takes a turn. Multiple players can win the pot if the pit is split depending on their hand ranking against the opponents.
The Split Pot
This is when two or more players have the same cards. For instance, if there is a tie-in showdown, the money in the pot is divided equally among those players. For example, if a player has an AQ and the other player has a Q8, the board opens K, K, Q, Q, 9, then both the players have a full house Q. In such a case, the kicker does not matter; thus, the pot is split between the two equally.
Side Pot
The side pot is a simple basic poker game rule that means a small stack player is ‘all-in,’ and the other players continue betting and raising on the side. If the small stack player who went all-in wins, they get only the main pot while the next player takes the side pot to win the hand.
